When is the right time to spay/ neuter your pet?

Most Veterinarians agree that you should spay/ neuter you pet at 6 months of age. You definitely want to get it done before they go into heat. I know a lot of people think that a bunch of kittens and puppies are cute, and they are, but those pets could end up in a shelter or even worse. Many people are surprised to learn that nationwide more than 3 million cats and dogs are euthanized in shelters. In the U.S. there are an estimated 6-8 million homeless animals entering shelters every year. Also, spaying females can prevent ovarian, mammary and uterine cancers. There are many reasons to spay and neuter your pets, so please do your part and be a responsible owner.
