Any one who has the privilege of working or owning animals knows that they often offer more love, smiles, and friendships than most people. Unfortunately, the time may come when we have to make a choice and let our friends go. I myself have never had to make this choice, but I have been there for many who have. I have cried and consoled grieving owners and held and offered compassion to pets in there final moments. It’s not easy working in an environment were death is a constant possibility, but I am grateful I work for a doctor who knows this. Though euthanizng a pet is a difficult decision, please remember the quality of life your pet has. I have added a few client testimonies written about Dr. Chau so that you many know the kind of love she gives untill the very end.

Dr. Chau, We just wanted to thank you for the sensitive, caring way you handled the end of our cat's life. You've always been a compassionate, gentle doctor, and we hope you know how much we appreciate your kindness. The verses of this card sum up our gratitude for your kindness and understanding while treating our cat Midnight. Its so nice to have a vet who cares so much. Its been rough not having him with us, but knowing that in time, there will be another who will need us as much as Midnight did gives us something t look forward to.
Letter written in first person from pet's perspective. Golden retriever after surgery for cancer] Dear Dr. Chau, I don't know if you remember me. You took away a sick spot on my shoulder last year. It got all healed and I improved so much that I got to have some little babies. I had 6 little babies (3 boy babies and 3 girl babies. They came to me on January 7th. They're so pretty. My human mom and dad agree. We all wanted you to know about my little family. We thank you so much you're a real good doctor...
Dr. Chau, I just wanted to write and thank you for all that you did for Chelsea. As you know, we had been to other vets and specialists prior to seeing you. Every place we went we were told to give her medications, see how she feels in a couple of days and so on. We, knowing the real Chelsea, knew there was something very wrong. When we finally came to you, after one to two months of watching Chelsea deteriorate, you figured out what was wrong and took care of it in three days. Not that money matters when it came to Chelsea, you did what was necessary and best for Chelsea, not what was best for your practice. I can’t express to you enough the feelings of gratitude we have for you to end Chelsea’s suffering. You have an incredible knack for balancing the way to handle this terrible matter. You were straight forward, yet extremely caring. Chelsea was definitely loved and will be missed greatly. We will cherish the 6 years of memories we had with her. Once again, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
Dear Dr. Chau, Pepper was in to have her blood work done and it just wasn't the same without you! Pepper was not happy about seeing Dr. F_ and I think he could tell it. You were so good with her and so nice to us. When we found out you had left the office we felt like we had lost a member of our family!
