Bartonella is also knows as cat scratch fever. It is a bacterial infection caused by small fragile bacteria called Bartonella Henselae. These bacteria can affect both humans and pets. Cat’s that have severe mouth infections and bad breath may be Bartonella positive. Other signs are unexplained fever, eye infections, and muscle pain. Bartonella can be detected by a blood test. If you notice any of these symptoms please contact your veterinarian immediately.
